SLPO Leaders successfully won over £10,000 worth of improvements across the Estate this June. This included bike sheds for Compton House and Whitgift House, a rubbish storage shed for Wolsey & Musgrave Courts, as well as a meeting room for Whitgift House. Some of these proposals will turn space left unused for many years into useful space for residents. 9 SLPO Leaders attended a Wandsworth Council Area Housing Panel meeting and collectively voted for the proposals to pass.
Michelle Richards – SLPO Co-Chair said, ” I am very happy and feel that a great achievement has been made for the Surrey Lane. It just goes to show that we can make things happen, and we are taken seriously as a group rather than as individuals. Together we are stronger and more able to make change and make our environment a better place to live”.
SLPO Residents Associations who accredit with Wandsworth Council are able to submit applications for a Small Improvements Budget. A bid has recently been submitted for bike sheds in Macey House.
